Creator FAQ
Answers for YouTube creators and editors.
Can I monetize my video?
Yes — monetization is allowed under CC BY 4.0, as long as you include attribution.
If you don’t want to credit the artist, use a commercial license.
Where should I put attribution?
Best places: YouTube description, video credits, podcast show notes, game/app credits.
Include: track title, “MoonPurr”, CC BY 4.0, and https://moonpurr.com.
Can I edit the track?
Yes: trimming, looping, fades, normalization, EQ, compression are fine.
If you plan a remix or major transformation, ask first (unless the track explicitly allows derivatives).
Vocal tracks & Spotify releases
Some tracks (especially vocal / Spotify releases) may have different terms.
If a track is not marked CC BY on its page, assume it requires a commercial license.
